Entry Requirement: Functional Skills - Maths

No prior qualifications or experience are necessary to enrol on the Level 1 Functional Skills Mathematics course. You only need to:
● Be aged 16 or over
● Complete a Functional Skills assessment to establish the appropriate level (Entry 1, Entry 2, Entry 3, Level 1 or Level 2) All entry decisions are made on an individual basis.

Entry Requirement: Functional Skills - English

Entry Requirements: Level 3 Diploma in Business

Age Requirement
Applicants must be aged 16 years or over at the time of enrolment.
Academic Requirements
Applicants are normally expected to hold one of the following qualifications:
● A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C / Grade 4 or above
● Relevant Level 2 qualifications, including Functional Skills in English and Mathematics
● Equivalent international qualifications
English Language Requirements
Applicants whose prior education was not delivered in a majority English-speaking country must
provide evidence of English language proficiency. Accepted qualifications include:
● IELTS with an overall score of 5.0
● Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Level B1
● Cambridge B1 Preliminary with a minimum score of 140
● Functional Skills English at Level 1
Applicants who do not meet the above requirements may be required to pass the ALC English Language Assessment.
Recognition of Prior Learning and Experience
Applicants who do not hold formal qualifications may be considered where relevant prior learning or work experience can be demonstrated. This will be assessed through a personal statement and an interview.

Entry Requirements: Level 3 Diploma in Business and Management

Age Requirements
This qualification is intended for learners who are typically aged 16 years and above.
Entry Qualifications
For learners who have recently completed education or training, the expected entry profile normally includes one of the following:
● A minimum of five GCSEs at Grade C / Grade 4 or above
● Relevant Level 2 qualifications
● Equivalent international qualifications
English Language Requirements
Applicants for whom English is not their first language are expected to demonstrate an appropriate level of English language proficiency. The recommended minimum standards for this qualification, or approved equivalents, include:
● IELTS overall score of 5.5
● Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR) Level B2
● Cambridge English Advanced (CAE) with a minimum score of 162

Entry Requirements: Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business and Management

Age: 18+
Qualifications:
● A GCE Advanced level profile with achievement in 2 or more subjects supported by 5 or more GCSEs at grades C and above
● Other related level 3 subjects such as ATHE level 3 Diplomas
● An Access to Higher Education Certificate delivered by an approved further education institute and validated by an Access Validating Agency
● Other equivalent international qualifications
Prior Experiential Learning:
Students with no formal qualifications may be considered if they are able to demonstrate prior learning through work experience. This is assessed through a personal statement and interview.

Entry Requirements: Level 5 Extended Diploma in Business and Management

Age: 18+
Qualifications:
For learners who have recently been in education or training the entry profile is likely to include one of the following:
● Prior study in business, management or related subjects at level 4 or above
● A level 4 qualification for example an ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business and Management or an ATHE Level 4 Diploma in Business and Administrative Management
● Other equivalent international qualifications
All entry decisions are taken on an individual basis.

Entry Requirements: HND in Business

You must be over 18 years of age.

Standard route

• Level 3 qualification (60 credits or above, preferably Business, or equivalent).
• English language assessment commensurate to IELTS 5.5 (PTE 51, Duolingo 85+, GCSE A*-C, Functional Skills Level 2 or B2 CEFR).

Non-standard route

• Mature applicants 21+ without formal qualifications require 2+ years work experience, CV, employer reference, personal statement, English test equivalent to IELTS 5.5.

All routes

• One-to-one interview session to understand students’ motivations.

Entry Requirements: BA (Hons) Business Management with Foundation Year

Applicants should have GCSE English Language at grade C/4 or higher or accepted equivalent qualification and a level 3 qualification equivalent to 48 UCAS points.

Applications are welcome from mature students with few or no formal qualifications. These applications will be assessed based on previous relevant work experience or learning, an interview, a written task and an English proficiency test.

This course is not available to students on a Student Route Visa.
